Cannondale knows how to ride fast in the dirt. They’ve been at the front of the CX race scene for years, so naturally we were excited to see the SuperSix EVO SE arrive at the shop earlier this year. And, due to the ever-lingering parts supply shortage, we decided to customize one and make it the ultimate, epic day, high-speed gravel grinder.

The Frame

A size 54 SuperSix EVO carbon frame and fork. Nothing custom here - this is a standard color way that needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate.

This is where we went off menu starting with a GX Eagle AXS rear derailleur and a 10-50t cassette. This gives the rider a huge, mountain climbing gear range that's powered by a Cannondale 1x crankset with a 40t ring.

Rival flat mount has plenty of stopping power for a gravel bike and 140mm rotors (CenterLock) help keep the weight down. Rival AXS wireless levers do all the talking to the GX rear derailleur for clean and crisp shifting.

The wheels

We love ENVE and this is a place for the AG25 gravel wheels to shine, especially with WTB 40c Nano tires that can handle gravel and singletrack trails with ease.

We completed the build with an Cannondale alloy Two stem (100mm) and bar (42cm wide), a carbon Hallowgram seatpost, and a Fizik Aliante saddle.

All in, this bike tips the scale at 18.3 lbs. Our spin on the SuperSix SE takes an already great bike and turns up its capability to 12 and lets riders crush a long a rolling gravel route, twisty CX course, or a weekend training epic.
